About

Lydia

Dance Teacher

Lydia has danced for 15 going on 16 years, and has experience in several styles such as ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and tap. She did competitive dance for 10 years, doing numerous tap solos and eventually adding contemporary. She won several group and solo awards including judges awards, high scores, stand out routine awards, and various placing awards.

During high school she was involved in several activities including band, choir, participating in musicals, and dance. She also took part in various other collaborations such as the National Honors Society and helping put together and run her school’s Special Olympics. She graduated with a 4.0 and went on to Jackson College to complete 3 associates degrees in general studies, art, and science through the Early College program, all with high honors.

Currently, she is continuing her studies at Adrian College, majoring in pre-professional exercise science and minoring in music, aiming to eventually become a pediatric physical therapist. She is also involved in the AC dance team and bands and is glad she gets to continue growing her skills.

She is excited for her second year of teaching at Encore, and looks forward to the opportunity in working with people who love and enjoy dance just as much as she does.
